LOVE

I decided to write a series about virtues. Today I chose LOVE.

God's greatest attribute is love. Love describes WHO He is and how He FEELS about us. One of His greatest commands of the new testament is that we Love one another as He loves us. It is through loving Him that we discover how much we are loved By him, and then we are able to pass that love on to others. Love is our soul's greatest need, it is funny how even our health improves when we know we are loved. Love brings peace and security to us. every other virtue has love as its foundation. Because of that I had to begin with love to build a strong foundation.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (1John 4:7-12 NIV)
